Communication seminar for CIBBRiNA partners (6, 13, and 20 November)

Online | 6th November 2024

This seminar will equip participants with essential communication skills to create a common ground between fishers and scientists, crucial for an effective exchange of knowledge and the development of a fruitful partnership. The CIBBRiNA Communication Seminar will be led by Russell Arnott and Ian Rowlands, who will share their expert knowledge on the Theory of Science Communication and show how to practically apply it. Understanding this theory will help participants to break down complex scientific information and effectively communicate this to their audiences, such as fishers, to ensure mutual understanding and successful collaboration within the CIBBRiNA context and even beyond the project. The theory is based on building trust, understanding the values and concerns of the other party, and communicating science in a way that resonates with their everyday experiences.

Each weekly seminar session is two hours and will take place on consecutive weeks, on Wednesdays 6, 13, and 20 November 2024.
