Save the date: International Forum on Bycatch of Marine Megafauna on 12–15 October 2027
Marine megafauna, a group that includes sharks, rays, sea turtles, seabirds and marine mammals, play irreplaceable roles in our ecosystems. The bycatch of these animals is a critical global challenge that risks the survival of species, the resilience of marine ecosystems and the sustainability of fishing livelihoods.
Taking place 12–15 October 2027 at the Cidade da Cultura in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, the International Forum on Bycatch of Marine Megafauna (IFBMM) will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders from sea and onshore to spur fresh knowledge-sharing and collaboration focused on the most practical approaches to addressing bycatch.
If you are involved in fishing, fisheries management or marine conservation in any way, you have a role to play in finding lasting solutions to marine megafauna bycatch – and we hope you will join us at the IFBMM.
For more information about the event and to sign up to the mailing list for updates, including on early bird registration and ticket rates, visit www.ifbmm.org.
We are jointly-organizing the IFBMM along with ECO-CATCH, MarineGuardian, Marine Beacon, SEA4Future, LIFE PROMETHEUS, REDUCE, and a variety of other experts.
